The TRUST Oil Tank Removal Program makes it easy for NJ homeowners to undertake heating oil tank removal projects and get $3,000 to pay for the work. The NJ oil tank program funds cover tank replacements as well, and our tank removal specialists know the easiest way for you to submit an application. In fact, ATS guarantees any NJ tank removal application submitted by ATS will be approved for funding.
Oil tank leaks are also covered and there is even more money available to pay the costs of cleaning up the soil and removing the tank.
Who is eligible?
The vast majority of New Jersey residents are eligible for oil tank removal grants. To qualify:
- You must have a federal taxable income of LESS than $250,000.
- Your net worth cannot exceed $500,000 (excluding your primary residence and pension).
- You spend more than 51% of your income on any and all living expenses. This includes mortgage, car payments, insurance, etc.

Step 2
We will arrange for the tank removal and installation work. We even apply for the necessary permits on your behalf. TRUST will provide you with all of the documents that need to be completed for the grant.
Any information we can fill out will be completed in the client package you receive. We will give you guidance on the additional information you need to complete on your own. We are always available to answer your questions.
Step 3
Our TRUST Program will verify that all of your documents have been properly filled out. We will attach all additional documents required by the state and the grant package will be submitted on your behalf for reimbursement.
Upon completion, the state will mail a check to you. We will provide a copy of all documentation to you in case you need it in the future.
If you choose our QuickPay option, we will pay the grant money to the contractor up front so your out-of-pocket expenses are minimized.
