Leaking Oil Tank?

Don’t worry! NJ oil tank grant funding is available.

NJ Tank Fund provides grants for remediation of  leaking residential & commercial tanks.  The program was expanded in 2007 so that most NJ homeowners will qualify for assistance.

We make the process easy:   Although New Jersey relaxed the financial requirements to qualify, the program still requires an extensive paperwork and filing procedure.  To start, an eligible applicant must get three price quotes from three separate contractors.   New Jersey also requires documents such as all receipts, cost schedules, contractor field notes, soil disposal records, time tracking sheets just to name a few.  Does this sound daunting? No worries.  ATS manages the whole process for you and guarantees that you will receive the leaking tank grant.   Here’s how.

  1. We can assign and directly supervise a tank contractor for you, If you need a company to cleanup the property.  In fact, we will manage the entire tank remediation project to ensure it is completed to your satisfaction.  In addition, we will make sure your remediation project conforms to all NJDEP eligibility requirements for grant funding.
  2. NJDEP and NJEDA jointly administer the funding for leaking tanks.   As you might suspect, this complicates the entire process because the case must pass through two large agencies.  Because we’ve handled so many leaking tank applications, we know exactly how to get approvals from each department which makes the process much easier for you.
  3. Our company collects all required records from your tank removal company.  Tank companies respond quickly to our requests because we are managing a substantial segment of the leaking projects in the state.  We will also gather all other required information including insurance policies, municipality approvals, contractor quotes
  4. After all documentation is received, we assemble the entire application for you.  This includes filling out all state required forms – which can be lengthy and complex.
  5. We file the entire application for you.  Our extensive review process guarantees the application is completed properly which will minimize delays in getting grant funding  approval.

Eligible homeowner applicants: Most homeowners in the state will qualify for the leaking tank grant.  Specifically, the state requires that applicants have a taxable income of no more than $250,000 and a personal net worth of no more than $500,000.  The personal net worth calculation EXCLUDES the value of the applicant’s primary residence AND value of any retirement accounts such as a 401K or IRA.  The calculation also excludes employer sponsored pension plans.

Corporate applicants: Business applicants must have a net operating income of no more than $250,000 before taxes and must have a personal net worth of no more than $500,000.  The business net worth calculation has the same exclusions as listed under eligible homeowner applicants.
